A new possibility for the treatment of depression

If you’re like so many who suffer from depression, you have tried multiple medications or therapies searching for relief. These treatments don’t deliver satisfactory results for everyone, and they often come with significant side effects that only add to the struggle. It can be an exhausting cycle of trial and error that feels never ending.

TMS

Drug-free Depression Treatment That Works For You

TMS is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation therapy, a non-drug treatment for major depression. TMS uses focused magnetic pulses, similar to an MRI, to reignite dormant synapses in the brain and help your brain function the way it was meant to.9

It is not a drug, “shock” therapy, or surgery. It is a safe, effective treatment for MDD without the common side effects of medication.1,9

Real World Outcomes Mean Real Depression Relief

NeuroStar Advanced TMS therapy is an outpatient treatment that takes as little as 19 minutes per session. A study of real-world outcomes reported an 83% response rate which means patients experienced notable relief, and a 62% remission rate which means their depression effectively went away.**12

The STAR*D study, the largest clinical trial of MDD ever conducted, showed that the rate of remission goes down with each new medication needed. If you’ve tried 3 or more medications, the chance of remission was just 7%.6,7,17,18

NeuroStar is being used in over 1,100 practices nationwide.

What is NeuroStar?

NeuroStar is a safe, effective, non-drug depression treatment that uses focused magnetic pulses, similar in strength to an MRI, to revitalize connections in an area of the brain involved in regulating your mood. When these connections are reawakened, many people experience measurable relief from their depression.

Does it work?

In a study of “real-world” outcomes (meaning actual NeuroStar patients), 83% of people who completed the full NeuroStar treatment cycle experienced a measurable decrease in the severity of their depression, and 62% of those completing treatment saw full remission – meaning their depression effectively “went away.”

Does insurance cover it?

Over 300 million people have insurance plans that cover NeuroStar, including Medicare and Tricare. Conditions and coverage can vary by insurance company, and your NeuroStar Team Lead will help you determine your benefits and coverage. We also offer cash-pay and patient financing options if desired, talk with your NeuroStar representative for more details.

Who is NeuroStar for?

NeuroStar is FDA-cleared for adults with Major Depressive Disorder who have not found relief from antidepressant medications. A NeuroStar leader will walk you through the full qualifications for treatment during your initial consultation.
NeuroStar Advanced Therapy is only available by prescription. A doctor can help decide if NeuroStar Advanced Therapy is right for you. Patients’ results may vary.

The NeuroStar Advanced Therapy System is indicated for the treatment of depressive episodes and for decreasing anxiety symptoms for those who may exhibit comorbid anxiety symptoms in adult patients suffering from Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and who failed to achieve satisfactory improvement from previous antidepressant medication treatment in the current episode.

The NeuroStar Advanced Therapy system is intended to be used as an adjunct for the treatment of adult patients suffering from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Important Safety Information

The most common side effect is pain or discomfort at or near the treatment site. These events are transient; they occur during the TMS treatment course and do not occur for most patients after the first week of treatment. There is a rare risk of seizure associated with the use of TMS therapy (<0.1% per patient).

NeuroStar Advanced Therapy should not be used with patients who have non-removable conductive metal in or near the head. NeuroStar Advanced Therapy has not been studied in patients who have not received prior antidepressant treatment.
